Our 'Recycling Rewards' program began in 2020 during the pandemic when it became difficult for small businesses, like ours, to source glass. Returned and repurposed glasses allowed us to continue to make candles for our great customers when our glass supply was dwindling.
Throughout the past five years, we have recycled over 4,000 candle jars and up to this point, we've taken them in any condition. However, since our program has grown in popularity so much more than we ever thought possible, we can no longer keep up with the cleaning needs of every single recyclable jar.
In order to keep our focus on making the goods instead of cleaning the jars they come in, we are requiring glass to be cleaned (entirely empty of wax, debris, and metal tabs) before getting any reward credit for it through our program.

Here are some tips on how we like to clean our jars;
Double Boil method
- Set a large pan with edges on a stovetop burner and fill pan with .5" to .75" of tap water.
- Set the stovetop burner to medium-low heat.
- Place candle jars in pan and take out immediately when wax has melted.
- Take spoon and pop metal tabs off, dumping all contents into the trash.
- Handwash glass with hot, soapy water before sending through dishwasher.
Freezer method
- Place candle jars in freezer for at least 3 hours.
- Take candles out, carve wax out with spoon.
- Dump contents into trash.
- Handwash glass with hot, soapy water before sending through dishwasher.
Et voila!
We continue to look forward to keeping them from a landfill. We're just asking that you help us a little before sending them back our way by carving the wax out and sending it through the dishwasher before returning to us at an event. A little bit goes such a long way!
with thanks,
