TRIM THOSE WICKS
Before enjoying one of our candles, trim your wick to 1/4"
A wick with carbon deposits left on it results in a wild, "dancing", dangerous flame.
Simply use a wick trimmer or scissors to remove any carbon deposits before lighting.
* PSA: Do not alter virgin wicks before the first burn! The virgin (unburned) wick is all ready to go.
Trimming this before use could result in a weak wick.
* PRO TIP: We actually prefer to trim our wicks while extinguishing the candle. Use your trimmer to extinguish
the candle by safely snipping off any carbon-deposits, then run the trimmers + carbon deposit under water
to safely extinguish any flame. This allows for a safe, smoke-free experience.

LET IT BURN
For the most efficient candle burning experience, let your candle achieve a full or near-full melt pool.
This can take up to 4 hours in the first burn.
A general rule of thumb is to burn the candle for one hour per every inch of the candle’s diameter.
Example: If you’re burning one of our Signature Tumbler candles, you should burn for a minimum of 3.5 hours to achieve a full melt pool.
* INTERESTING FACT: The initial burn of your candle is actually the most difficult for the candle because
it’s most subject to elements such as air draft and temperature. Once the wax is lower, the wicks
become more sheltered by the walls of the vessel, making it easier to achieve a full melt-pool.
If you had wax build-up from the first few burns, it will likely melt once the wax lowers.

LET IT BURN... SAFELY
Never leave a burning candle unattended.
Never burn a candle on an uneven, fabric, or heat-sensitive surface.
Never burn a candle near a vent or draft source.
Never burn your candle with it’s dust cover still in place.
Never burn a candle where curious children and wagging tails can reach.
There’s a lot of no-no’s when it comes to candle burning. After all, it’s an open flame!
Practice safe burning conditions and enjoy.

STOP THE BURN
Stop burning your candle after 4 hours of use, each time.
+
Retire your candle when only 1/2” of wax remains.
Both of these rules are important because the glass or ceramic vessel can fracture or become too hot if the flame is too intense and concentrated.
